Every day on my way to work I spot the below little plant growing out of the side of the Park Avenue ramp which leads vehicles around Grand Central Terminal. It is on the southbound side between 40th and 41st Streets. This little plant (not weed) goes through the cycle of life: growing, blooming; shedding leaves; and then laying dormant for the winter. When Spring returns, so does the little plant.
I have seen this plant go through these phases for over 10 years. In a city that is ever changing, it is nice to see something familiar and able to survive and thrive in the city.
